Export guide

The two reports you need

Both are standard SAP Business One reports — no add-ons, queries or admin rights required.

Report 1

Inventory Audit Report

Inventory → Inventory Reports → Inventory Audit Report

  1. Select all items and all warehouses.
  2. Set the posting date up to today and run the report.
  3. Export with the Excel icon on the toolbar (or File → Export → Export to MS Excel).

Columns used: Item No., Item Description, Warehouse, quantity on hand, Average Cost, Inventory Value.

Report 2

Inventory Posting List

Inventory → Inventory Reports → Inventory Posting List

  1. Select all items and all warehouses.
  2. Set the posting date range to the last 24 months (12 at minimum).
  3. Run the report and export it to Excel the same way.

Columns used: Posting Date, Item No., Warehouse, Quantity (in/out), document or transaction type.

Different column names, another language, or a CSV from a saved query? That's fine — if a column isn't recognised you can map it by hand after dropping the file.

What the report finds

Where your working capital is stuck

Dead stock

Items with no sales or movement for 12+ months, valued at cost and ranked by the cash they tie up.

Slow movers & overstock

Low demand against stock on hand — more than 12 months of cover, falling demand, or no movement for 6+ months.

Stock ageing

Inventory value in 0–90, 91–180, 181–365 and 365+ day buckets since its last movement, per warehouse.

Working capital

An estimate of the cash you can release through liquidation, supplier returns, warehouse transfers and lower reorder points.

Privacy-first

Your SAP Business One data never leaves your computer.

Inventory Doctor is a web page, not a service. The analysis runs in your browser, on your machine.

  • Files are opened by your browser — there is no upload endpoint and nothing is stored.
  • The page's security policy only allows it to talk to its own site and to anonymous page analytics.
  • Analytics record page views and button clicks only — never file contents, item codes or values.
  • The contact form sends only what you type, plus your five headline numbers if you tick the box.
Check it yourself
  1. Open your browser's developer tools and select the Network tab.
  2. Drop your files and run the analysis.
  3. Look for requests carrying your data — you won't find any.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Is my SAP Business One data uploaded anywhere?

No. Your files are read and analysed by JavaScript inside your own browser. There is no upload endpoint, and the page's security policy blocks sending data to any other server. You can confirm it in your browser's Network tab.

Which versions of SAP Business One are supported?

Any version that can export the Inventory Audit Report and Inventory Posting List to Excel — including 9.x and 10.0 on SQL Server or SAP HANA. Columns are recognised automatically; if your export uses different names or another language, you can map them by hand.

How long does it take?

Exporting the two reports takes a couple of minutes. The analysis itself takes seconds, even with hundreds of thousands of posting lines.

How is dead stock defined?

Stock on hand with no movement — no sales, receipts or issues — for more than 365 days. Slow-moving stock has no movement for more than 180 days or more than 12 months of stock cover. You can change every threshold under Assumptions.

How is potential cash recovery estimated?

By default, 40% of dead stock value (a typical liquidation or supplier-return value) plus 70% of the value of stock above six months of cover, which you can release by pausing replenishment or transferring it. Both rates are adjustable.

Is it really free?

Yes — the health check is free with no sign-up. If you'd like help acting on the results, request a free expert review.

I'm an SAP Business One partner. Can I use this with my customers?

Yes. We offer white-label Inventory Health Reports for SAP Business One partners and consultancies — get in touch.
